The lifting chains produced by regular manufacturers need to be checked layer by layer. The materials are carefully selected and subjected to high temperature quenching. The manufacturing process is excellent. Before leaving the factory, the lifting chains are subject to strict tensile test. They can enter the market only after everything is qualified. Therefore, the lifting chains under normal use will not break. If the lifting chains break suddenly during use, it may be caused by the following reasons.
Schematic Diagram of Broken Lifting Chain
1. Serious overload is a major cause of the fracture of the lifting chain. The qualified lifting chain has a relatively high safety factor. Even if it is used under overload, it will not suddenly fracture. The sudden fracture may be that the weight of the lifting target itself has exceeded several times the rated load of the lifting chain, that is, it completely exceeds the safety factor of the lifting chain.
2. The lifting chain has been used for a long time without good maintenance, and serious corrosion has occurred. In this case, the lifting chain should be scrapped. The corroded lifting chain has already lost its original rated load. At this time, it can not be required by the load just left the factory. Even if the work is carried out within the rated load range, it will also face the risk of sudden fracture.
3. The long-term overload use of the lifting chain will lead to the decline of the metal performance. If the sudden fracture of the lifting chain did not occur under the condition of severe overload, it is very likely to occur in the long-term overload operation. Each overload operation will have an imperceptible impact on the lifting chain, just like our own human beings. If we don't look at minor problems, it will eventually lead to serious diseases. The lifting chain is such a gradual damage process. If you do not pay attention to the standard operation and maintenance at ordinary times, you will eventually break suddenly.
